The Colorblind

A poem for deep gratitude
Let the colorblind remind us the delicacy of life
in its beauty
in its eternalness
Let them remind us the fragility of time
in its constancy
in its permanence
Let the infinite variations of colors
set hope upon the quarrels of human life
For every fruit, tree, sunset and sky
has a flush only He from above shall cast beneath this Earth
I recently watched a wonderful YouTube video of a man trying on colorblind glasses for the first time. It was the way he looked at the bright little berries that I was suddenly moved by the thought of our existence. It's easy to lose sight of the colors we see every day, including those that Mother Nature has in store for us. I hope this poem awakens a deep desire to appreciate them again.
